U.K. Reports Fewest Coronavirus Deaths in More Than a Month

The U.K. Department of Health and Social Care announced 269 additional deaths from the coronavirus, the smallest increase since the end of March.

The agency reported 3,923 new cases and 64,362 new tests performed since the day before. The total number of people infected reached 219,183.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to address the nation at 7pm Sunday to present a plan to progressively ease the stay at home measures.

The numbers of additional deaths communicated by the Department of Health have been lower on weekends in the U.K., due a to lag in data reporting.
