One user said: “How does that work please?”

Another asked the same question: “How do you do it?”

Others quickly commented and explained how to use a dishwasher tablet to clean your oven.

One user explained: “I wet the dishwater tablet and scrub it over the oven/ glass with a scourer on top.”

Another user said: “I made a paste with a dishwasher tablet. I had fairy platinum. Rubbed on all parts of oven. Soaked shelves and filters in bath. Tough parts I used wire wool. Rest just a scourer.”

Meanwhile, other users asked whether the oven needed to be warmed first to get the desired effect.

Many of the users said they left their ovens cold.

One person said dishwasher tablets can be used to clean wire racks from the oven.

She explained: “You can clean the wire shelves from the oven with dishwasher tablets… wrap your racks in tin foil.

“Place in the bath with two dishwasher tablets and cover in hot water.

“Leave overnight and you’ll be amazed with the results!”

Other users said they used the same technique for oven glass and the bottom of ovens and grills.

Dishwasher tablets can be purchased for as little as £3.00 from Tesco for 30 tablets.

ASDA sells 30 tablets for just £1.50, and Wilko sells 40 for £3.00.
