JEEP is discontinuing a popular range loved by Brits in favour of an all-EV lineup.
The iconic brand is transitioning away from petrol power in a bid to produce only electric cars by 2030.
As part of that project, the petrol Grand Cherokee line is being phased out to make way for new battery-powered versions.
Jeep confirmed the scrapping of the Trackhawk variant in 2021.
The fifth generation standard Grand Cherokee is still available with a petrol engine, but there is now a plug-in hybrid version too.
The model was renewed in 2021 and generation cycles usually last six or seven years, so we can expect the discontinuation of the petrol range as a whole by the end of the decade.

Jeep now offers the all-electric Avenger model to take the place of its SUV offerings.
It has also launched two new SUVs, the Recon and Wagoneer S, to further capture the electric market in that class.
A spokesperson for the manufacturer said: "The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was discontinued after the 2021 model year.
"The fifth generation Grand Cherokee is available with the 4xe plug-in hybrid version.

"Last year, the brand announced the premiere of two all-new, all-electric, global SUVs the Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S.
"Jeep indicated that 50% of sales in the U.S. and 100% of sales in Europe will be battery-electric vehicles (BEV) by 2030."

It comes after an EV owner issued an urgent warning about the hidden cost of driving one.
Meanwhile, another major car firm unveiled its last ever petrol sports car as it too moves to only producing electric cars.
