PlayStation fans receive upgrade to ‘flawed’ exclusive – improvements come ahead of DLC release | The Sun

A PLAYSTATION console exclusive released earlier this year was panned by both players and critics alike.

Issues with the game’s pacing as well as “cringe” dialogue left players disappointed by the major release.

There were several major problems with Forspoken, which turned PlayStation fans away at launch.

The game is slow to start, with abilities being drip-fed to players, and many complained about the dull story which is narrated in detail.

While players were interested in the diverse movement options, too many aspects distracted from the gameplay.

A new update for the game hopes to correct some of these problems including cutting down dialogue and animations hoping to improve the pace of the game.

Familiars have now been added to the game which will help you pick up items as Frey passes them.

These will be based on cats, so Frey can now have an army of kitties following her around.

New items have also been added and a new harder difficulty setting for those who have mastered the game.

The update also includes a number of bug fixes, as well as many more quality of life improvements.

This latest patch has been released ahead of the upcoming In Tanta We Trust DLC.

As paid DLC, the team is planning to encourage players back to the game in the hopes that they will purchase the new DLC.

However, while this patch is a step in the right direction, more is likely needed to pull fans back in.

There are still significant issues, including a bland story and characters, and an uninspired open-world.

At its core it has a fun magic system, and interesting traversal and combat options, but these aspects cannot save the game overall.

In Tanta We Trust is available now in early access for Deluxe Edition players, and will receive its full release on Friday, May 26, 2023.
