MARVEL’S Spider-Man 2 is finally here, but some people are unable to play their copies.
It’s an incredible game rated at an astounding 91 on review aggregate site Metacritic, and it comes with a price tag to match.
This is why players were so disappointed when a bug meant that they couldn’t dive into the action.
According to a report by The Gamer, players are having trouble installing the game from the physical disc.
On PS5, even if you buy a physical copy of the game, you still need to install the files from the disc onto the console.
When putting in the disc for the first time, players have reported that the installation process gets ‘stuck’.

It will reach 36% installed as usual, but then won’t continue installing past this point.
People report attempting to delete these files and then reinstall them, but it apparently comes up with the same results.
At the time of writing, players haven’t found a fix for the bug, so some of the first to purchase Spider-Man 2, have still not been able to play.
It appears that the installation bug only affects those who have purchased the physical copy of the game, and that those who bought it digitally are having no issues.

The majority of those who have purchased the physical copy, have been able to install Spider-Man 2 without issue.
However, the number of people that have run into the bug means that it is a problem with the disc, not an issue with individual PS5s.
If you want to purchase and play Spider-Man 2, then it is recommended that you buy the digital version in order to avoid any issues.
If you have already purchased the physical edition, and have been able to install and play it, then you will likely have no further issues.
