Cleaning fanatic recommends product that can banish black mould in ’30 minutes’

In the winter months mould is a problem in many UK homes.

One of the most common causes of mould in the home is condensation which occurs when warm, damp air collides with cold surfaces such as windows.

However, it can also grow due to leaky pipes, windows and roofs or rising damp among other problems.

If not dealt with properly mould can be dangerous, causing damage to walls, ceilings and furniture and even your health.

Therefore, as soon as you spot mould in your home you should try to remove it.

Unless the mould has become out of control or is a serious health risk, you can usually clean it yourself.

One cleaning fanatic took to social media to share her favourite product for doing so.

Cleaning and home-life vlogger, Kirsten White, demonstrated how to use the Astonish mould and mildew blaster spray in a recent TikTok video via her account clean_with_kirsten.

In the video she showed a window frame dotted with black mould.

To tackle this she then sprayed the affected areas with the product.

Kirsten then placed make-up remover pads, similar to cotton wool, on top of the mould patches and sprayed them again.

Thirty minutes later she removed the pads and wiped the window frames down, removing all the mould.

She said: “Leave for 30 minutes and the mould should disappear.”

To her more than 22,000 followers she also recommended leaving the windows open for a “little while” afterwards to let them air out.

She added: “I have used this product on my wall which had lots of mould and worked a treat! Another one which is good is HG mould spray but the smell is strong.”

A search on Google conducted at the time this article was written shows the Astonish mould and mildew blaster spray can be bought from Asda for £1.19, Iceland for £1.20 and Sainsbury’s for £1.50.

Multipacks can also be ordered from Amazon and other sites.
