Never ignore ‘blurry’ iPhone screen or missing app icons – it means you’ve made a dangerous phone-breaking mistake | The Sun

IPHONE owners are warning each other over two dangerous signs you've made a big mistake.

If your iPhone screen ever becomes suddenly blurring and app icons start to disappear, you'll need to act fast.

It's a big problem with your device that can be easily fixed – but only if you're quick.

The problem came to light after a Reddit user made a post showing an image of a blurred iPhone screen with several icons missing.

They said the phone, which belonged to a friend, experienced the problem first thing in the morning.

"She woke up with half the apps missing but ‘still there’ and her screen was blurry," the Reddit user wrote.

"Has anyone else had the same? She could not click on the apps that were gone, but the app that were shown seemed to work.

"Actually occurred twice during the day. A quick turn off and on fixed it but missed a few critical notifications."

What causes blurry iPhone?

Other Reddit users were quick to respond with the cause of the problem.

One said: "Very very very low on storage."

Another said: "This happened with my old 6S when it completely ran out of storage."

And one replied: "Critically low on storage."

A different user added: "Storage full. If your friend goes any longer without freeing up storage, the iPhone will likely start boot-looping to the point where it won't turn on."

Once you reach very low levels of storage on any device, it will begin experiencing issues.

In fact, Apple openly states on its website that running too low on storage can cause your iPhone performance to suffer.

"If your device is low on storage, iOS or iPadOS automatically frees up space while installing an app, updating iOS or iPadOS, downloading music, recording videos, and more," Apple explained.

"For best performance, try to maintain at least 1GB of free space.

"If your available storage is consistently less than 1GB, your device might slow down as iOS or iPadOS repeatedly makes room for more content."

You'll need to quickly free up space if this is the case, or you risk experiencing more serious issues.

How to quickly free up iPhone storage

If you go into Settings > General > iPhone Storage, you'll be able to see how much space you have remaining.

And you should also see recommendations to free up storage.

You can tap any of those recommendations to quickly complete them, instantly clearing storage.

It's also worth looking at the list of apps on your device and seeing if any larger downloads could be deleted.

For instance, some games might be taking up a lot of storage, so delete them if you no longer play them.
